How to play · 13-card points
Eight steps, one hand: a closer reading of points rummy on betnow.
A mid-depth walkthrough that goes one step past the room card, into the moment of declaration.
- The deal. 13 cards each, one face-up on the discard pile.
- The sort. Group by suit and by face value before you draw.
- The draw. Choose between the closed stock and the up-card.
- The first drop. Drop the card that gives the least away.
- The mid-hand read. Estimate the jokers in play and the suits running.
- The impure sequence. Build one run with the joker that closes it.
- The pure sequence. Build one run without jokers, mandatory for declaration.
- The show. Declare with one of each, pure, impure and set.
The mistake to avoid
Do not chase a second pure sequence when you already have one. The cost of a missed declaration on a marginal hand is usually higher than the cost of declaring with the impure sequence you have.
